Graphic Design Intern

SUPERVISOR: Digital Marketing Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Graphic Design Intern will work with the Digital Marketing Manager to design and execute assets for print and digital communications.

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An eagerness to learn and create memorable designs in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in or appreciation of conservation and the outdoors.
  • Fluent Spanish a plus.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Managing project expectations with set deadlines.
  • Presenting concept images and designs in preparation for final artwork.
  • Receiving constructive feedback and making edits as needed.
  • Mastering brand guidelines and how to apply them.
  • Working with a conservation nonprofit.

DISCRETION/LATITUDE/DECISION-MAKING

  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.
  • Demonstrates common sense, flexibility, and teamwork with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks. Refers difficult questions and unusual problems to the Digital Marketing Manager.

COMMUNICATIONS/INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

  • Demonstrated experience using effective interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy, and tact to build strong professional relationships.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • This is a Tampa Bay-based work-from-home paid internship ($15/hour).
  • Applicants should be available to work approximately 10 hours per week during regular business hours.
  • The internship term will begin in June 2024 and conclude in August 2024.
  • Work is performed in a typical office setting and requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
